Santa Carolina Reserva Merlot 2020

Tasting Profile: With a bright ruby ​​color, this Merlot shows aromas and flavors of red fruits, such as raspberry and sour cherry. On the palate, the wine becomes more complex, with hints of sweet spices and notes of cinnamon and tobacco appear in the background. Its pleasant acidity and soft but firm tannins remain on the palate for a long time.

Grape: 100% Merlot.

Serving Tips: Pair with gnocchi with pesto, chicken casserole and mushroom risotto.

Winemaking: The grapes for this Merlot were mostly harvested by hand, then fermented and macerated with their skins on in stainless steel tanks to extract color, flavors and textures. These processes were carried out using selected yeasts and under controlled temperature conditions between 24º and 26º C to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Once the fermentation was finished, the wine was aged for a few months in order to achieve greater smoothness, complexity, subtle notes of wood, a rich fruity expression and rounded tannins on the palate.
